Susan McPherson

Susan Kathleen McPherson January 21, 1951 ~ August 1, 2021 (age 70) Tribute Beloved sister, Susan Kathleen McPherson entered Heaven on August 1, 2021, peacefully. She was born in Purcell, Oklahoma on January 21, 1951. Susan graduated from Norman High School in 1969. During childhood years, she attended Immanuel Baptist Church. Susan received a joint scholarship with Donna Vanderburg from ONG in 1969 at Oklahoma University and graduated in 1972 with a degree in English and Journalism. In 1974, she moved northwest to start a new life with David Hutchison to pursue his music career for 23 years. Susan worked for E/I many years in Seattle. She was a licensed massage therapist. Susan loved to read, was an artist, chef and gardener. Most of all she loved horses her whole life. Susan worked hard for 32 years and then returned lovingly to Norman to care for her Dad originally and Mother. Susan retired from the OU Sociology Department in 2018. She loved her cats O’Sullivan and Morgan. Susan was preceded in death by grandparents Luther and Myrtle Andrews, parents Leon and Bernice McPherson. She is survived by sister Sandra and Snow (the cat), Aunt Ticky (Nona) McPherson Morris and many cousins and relatives. Special appreciation goes to Reminisce Memory Care staff and aids and Tender Care Hospice.
